Our fifth and final ‘standard season’ event of 2017:
The Adipose Five Kilos!
Ten minutes past one, every night, bang on the dot without fail…an Adipose was born! Now, most of us would love to lose a kilo a day, and many of us would even be okay with it involving the creation of cute little lifeforms! The Adipose 5k celebrates the cutest creatures in all of time and space! This 4″ ‘medal’ is only partially metal…it will have a metal back with 3-dimensional, soft PVC rubber so it will look and feel just like an Adipose! And…the custom sublimated ribbon has other brothers and sisters of the Adipose flying up the blue beams to the spaceships!
The Adipose were just kids needing mommies and daddies. Whovian Running Club is humbled and honored to announce that our charity partner for the Adipose 5k was Racing for Orphans with Down Syndrome (RODS)! More specifically, we supported RODS in order to get one beautiful little boy, Charlie, out of an orphanage and into the loving arms of his forever family! Visit https://rods.org to see their success stories and get a glimpse of Charlie’s future!
The Adipose Five Kilos raised $15,431.20 to benefit Racing for Orphans with Down Syndrome. Charlie found his family on May 16, 2018.
In 2018, we re-released the Adipose Five Kilos during our Timey Wimey event, which raised another $1,854.99 to benefit RODS.
