“No, I can’t be six months late. I said five minutes. I promised. What happened to her? What happened to Amelia Pond?”
Whovian Running Club is thrilled to announce the fourth event of the 2021 season:
Raggedy Run 5k!
Your registration includes this stellar three-inch medal featuring the collection of young Amelia’s many childhood creations inspired by her meeting with the unusual but endearing ‘Raggedy Doctor’, the mysterious crack in time (that you can actually *see* through…but hopefully not to an Atraxi extra-dimensional prison), and on the back, the delightful Scottish girl who waited in the garden for the return of her alien hero!
As with every WRC medal, participants around the world all receive a beautiful custom sublimated ribbon, and a personalized digital bib.
“Fourteen years since fish custard. Amy Pond, the girl who waited, you’ve waited long enough.”
We’re so pleased to tell the world that our charity partner for this event is RODS: Racing for Orphans with Down Syndrome!
RODS exists to bring orphans with Down syndrome to a forever family. By raising adoption funds, they help assist families with the international adoption costs associated with bringing these sweet children home.
There is currently a little girl named Liviah waiting in an orphanage in mainland China. First taken in at a year and a half of age, she is active, cheerful, smart, and clever. She loves indoor and outdoor play, puzzles, and dancing. A perfectly wonderful, energetic little toddler. She has waited long enough.
Our support of RODS through this event will look to fund the grant that joins Liviah with a loving family!
“Carrots? Are you insane? No. Wait. Hang on. I know what I need. I need, I need, I need…”
While he was still breaking in his ‘new mouth’, a lot of the foods that young Amelia offered ended up…well, everywhere. There was one odd dish that finally satisfied the Time Lord-in-transition, and that bizarre combination is memorialized on the Raggedy Run 5k event shirt!
Available in multiple fabrics and styles from tees, to tanks, to long-sleeves, proceeds will also support RODS.
“Hello. I’m the Doctor. Basically, run.”
Remember that this is a ‘virtual’ fitness event, so you can complete your five kilometer distance however, wherever and whenever you want. How? You can run, walk, run, roll, row, dance, or wander. Where? You can do it around your neighborhood, on the TARDIS treadmill, or out on your favorite path. When? You can do it on a Monday night, a Thursday morning, or a Sunday afternoon. It’s all up to you!
For some extra fun, the optional ‘run day’ for the event is June 26: the wedding day of Amy Pond and Rory Williams! If you’d like to join hundreds of others across Planet Earth completing some or all of the distance on that day, you’ll be in some wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey company.
Registration closes at midnight on July 5. Medals ship on the honor system in the following week, so there’s no need to report your distances to us. Just get out there and be brilliant!

The waiting is over. It’s time to go!
