When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Many kids dream of becoming a dancer, a veterinarian, or an accountant. (Ok, those kids were admittedly a bit weird. Accounting is scary.)
What about those kids who aren’t sure what they want to do?
Well, we’ve got a suggestion. How about creating the future technology that will change the world? The more kids that get interested in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), the more cool gadgets, gizmos, and thingamabobs we’ll have in the future!
But who will help inspire these kids to get excited about STEM?
Whovian Running Club is excited to announce that our charity partner for our next event is BEST Robotics!
BEST Robotics is a national nonprofit that provides STEM Education for workforce development through a FREE after-school program and competition for students in middle and high school. BEST’s mission is to engage and excite students about engineering, science, and technology as well as inspire them to pursue careers in these fields. The students learn to analyze and solve problems utilizing the engineering design process, which helps them develop a myriad of technological skills. These skills are what will enable these kids to be successful in the future.
We’ve done some preliminary calculations and by our estimate every four registrations will cover the costs for one student. Our goal is to help equip 200 students and give them a path to a future in STEM.
Join us here tomorrow at Noon EDT when we launch our third event of 2019!
